**** GENERAL FESTIVAL INFORMATION

The Fests were co-founded by Kathleen Resch, Maria Barbosa, Dale Clark, and Marcy Robin 26+ years ago. The first Fest was in 1983 in San Jose, CA. The annual conventions now alternate between the Los Angeles and New York areas. From the start, the Fest has been an event by, for, and with the fans and guests to share DS together.

You will receive your membership badge and a program book at the Fest registration table. You must wear your badge to enter all Fest programming. (Note: The Banquet is by pre-reserved ticket only.) Be comfortable in your clothing and shoes – you may be standing in lines for autographs, but you also will be sitting in the main ballroom for onstage programming.

The Fest asks that you please be respectful of our guests, speaking to them briefly and getting only 1-3 autographs.. In this way, other fans also have a fair turn to chat briefly with the guests and get a couple of autographs. Please be respectful of your fellow fans when entering, leaving, or seated in the ballroom, or when you take pictures from the audience while the guests are onstage..The fan-oriented tone of the Fests encourages everyone to have fun together.

Premiere announcements of Fest news, detailed descriptions, programming, and much more are in the brand-new double print issue, SG #115-#116. This hot-off-the-press edition of The Official DS Newsletter & News Source expands and explains Fest programming, special features, and much more, including an exclusive message from Jonathan Frid .

SG #114 PHOTOS & NEWS HIGHLIGHTS:

ShadowGram # 114 features numerous casual and candid pictures of our 2008 Festival guests: Jonathan, Lara, David Selby, John, Kathryn, Marie, Jerry Lacy, Robert Rodan, Chris Pennock, Roger Davis, Robert Cobert, and Sy Tomashoff.

A report on the Burbank Fest details the guest Q&A talks, live onstage performance of the "lost" 1968 DS script, annual Banquet With the Stars, and more. The highlight of the weekend was Jonathan’s introduction: John Karlen, as "Willie," stepped onstage holding a lit candleabra and discovers a chained coffin as the room echoes with Barnabas’ commanding "Willie!" He opens the casket, a hand shoots up from inside, grasping at his throat – and John then assists Jonathan out of the coffin, to the roaring delight of the standing-room-only audience.
